JONATHAN PACKLES WINS JUNIOR NATIONAL 200 BACKSTROKE
Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed at the 2026 USA Swimming Junior National Championships in Irvine, CA.
Our meet was highlighted by Jonathan Packles bringing home the gold medal in the Men's 200 Backstroke, earning him the title of 2026 Junior National Champion. He is the first AGUA swimmer to do so since 2019. His time broke the 15-18 and Open AGUA Team Records, and you can re-watch his race and medal ceremony here!
Jonathan also raced to third-place in the 100 Backstroke, setting new AGUA and Metropolitan Swimming records in the process. He was joined on the podium by Milly Birch, who earned a fourth-place finish in the 1500 Freestyle. She also earned points in the 800 Freestyle by coming in fifteenth.

LOCKER ROOM REMINDERS
As we begin the 2026-2027 AGUA season, we want to remind our athletes of locker room policies and best practices:

There are absolutely no photos or videos permitted inside locker rooms, both on campus and during travel meets.
Swimmers should lock their belongings in a locker during practice.
Only swimmers who are Asphalt Green members are permitted to use the member locker rooms at Asphalt Green. There are no exceptions.
