COMPETITION UPDATES
CONGRATULATIONS COACH HAILEY & COACH DIANA!
Congratulations to Coaches Hailey Hewitt and Diana Ross on earning 2023-2024 Metropolitan Swimming Coach of the Year honors! The AGUA staff would foremost like to thank our full coaching staff, families, and all of our AGUA athletes for your contribution to these awards. The honors are a true reflection of the commitment, effort, and support of the entire AGUA family.
METROPOLITAN SWIMMING AGE GROUP COACH OF THE YEAR
Coach Hailey was nominated for the Age Group Coach of the Year Award, an honor presented to an age group coach who has shown excellence in coaching and fostering young athletes' growth and development.
Hailey earned the award for 2024 after leading the age group program to a first-place finish at the 2024 Eastern Zone Age Group Championships. At the Junior Metropolitan Championships, Coach Hailey has developed multiple high point award winners, individual and relay event champions, and more.
METROPOLITAN SWIMMING ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR
Coach Diana was nominated for the Assistant Coach of the Year Award, which recognizes the invaluable contributions of an assistant coach who has gone above and beyond in supporting their team and head coach.
In the 2023-2024 season, Diana's group included over 30 Sectionals qualifiers and multiple qualifiers for the USA Swimming Futures and Winter Junior National Meets. Coach Diana's former athletes also went on to qualify for Summer Junior Nationals and compete at the NCAA level this season.
MAAPP was designed to prioritize the safety of athletes and addresses one-on-one interactions, social media and electronic communications, local and team travel, locker rooms and changing areas, and athletic training modalities.
Acknowledgment by all families is mandatory. Please do so by Monday, September 30, 2024.
Service Sign Up // All families must complete 10 service hours between October 2024 and July 2025 in accordance with our service policy. View job descriptions here. Sign up for the Season Starter will open on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 9am.
