Congratulations to our athletes who raced at the 2026 Metropolitan Swimming Junior Metropolitan Swimming Championships in Long Island, NY! The AGUA Men's Team was victorious in the team standings, while both our Girls and Combined Teams took runner-up honors.
Morgan Dasilva (10-Year-Old Boys), Olivia Kim (12-Year-Old Girls) and Mika Lee (14-Year-Old Boys) all earned runner-up honors in their respective age groups' high point race.
Morgan came home with 73 points after podium finishes in the 50 and 100 butterfly, 50, 100, 200 and 500 freestyle and 200 IM. Olivia earned 84 points with wins in all three breaststroke events and additional top-three finishes in the 50 and 200 Backstroke, and 100, 200 and 400 IM. Mika raced to 75 points with a victory in the 100 Butterfly and medals in the 100 and 200 Backstroke, 100 and 200 Breaststroke, and the 200 IM.

In the 15-18 Age Group Team Challenge, the AGUA Girls also earned first place. The Boys and Combined Team came home with runner-up honors.
The team was led by Laura Strassenburg, who earned first place in the high point race with an impressive 107 points. Laura won first place in the 100 Backstroke, 500 Freestyle, and 200 IM, and second in the 200 Backstroke and 200 Freestyle.
She was joined by Bea Chukwulozie (67 points) and Dylan Zucker (71 points) on the medal stand as they both won third-place high point honors.

AGUA is still looking for more Admin Officials and stroke-and-turn judges! Becoming an official is a great way to get involved in your swimmer's life and sport. You will learn the rules of competitive swimming and how meets work.

REMINDERS
LOCKER ROOM REMINDERS
As we continue the 2025-2026 AGUA season, we want to remind our athletes of locker room policies and best practices:
Locker rooms are shared spaces at both Asphalt Green's Battery Park City and Upper East Side campuses. All AGUA swimmers should speak and behave in alignment with our team values of respect, accountability and discipline.
There are absolutely no photos or videos permitted inside locker rooms, both on campus and during travel meets.
Swimmers should lock their belongings in a locker during practice.
Only swimmers who are Asphalt Green members are permitted to use the member locker rooms at Asphalt Green. There are no exceptions.
REQUIRED ID CARDS
All swimmers must use their ID cards to access our facilities. Swimmers are not permitted to enter the facilities without their ID cards.
