GREAT WORK AT SENIOR METS!
Congratulations to all our swimmers who competed at the 2025 TYR Metropolitan Swimming Winter Championships in East Meadow, NY. Our athletes raced to third-place finishes in the Overall Combined Team Score, Women's Team Score and Men's Team Score.
The meet featured multiple AGUA team records and five medal-winning performances. Alegra Teixidor-Salerno led the charge with her gold-medal-winning performance in the 200 breaststroke.
She was joined on the podium by Jonathan Packles (200 backstroke) and three of our Men's relays: 200 Medley (David Gutin, Spyros Argeros, Derek Cox, Yahro Pique), 200 Free: (Cox, Gutin, Pique, Tim Seliger) and 400 Free: (Gutin, Cox, Pique, Seliger). The 400 Free Relay Team tied the Open AGUA Team Record of 3:02.70 previously set in 2024.
Bruce Qian also broke two program marks in the 13-14 boys 1000 freestyle (9:40.61 - previously set in 2022) and 200 butterfly (1:52.95 - previously set by Bruce in 2024).

REMINDERS
LOCKER ROOM REMINDERS
As we continue the 2024-2025 AGUA season, we want to remind our athletes of locker room policies and best practices:
Locker rooms are shared spaces at both BPC & UES. All AGUA swimmers should speak and behave in alignment with our team values of respect, accountability and discipline.
There are absolutely no photos or videos permitted to be taken inside the locker rooms, both on campus and during travel meets.
Swimmers should lock their belongings in a locker during practice.
Only swimmers who are members of Asphalt Green are permitted to use the member locker rooms at Asphalt Green. There are no exceptions.
REQUIRED ID CARDS
All swimmers must use their ID cards to access our facilities. Swimmers are not permitted to enter the facilities without their ID cards.
