Great Work at the 2023 NCAP Invitational!
Congratulations to our athletes who raced last weekend at the 2023 NCAP Invitational in College Park, MD! AGUA swimmers had great success, earning new qualifications for Junior Metropolitan Championships, Futures Championships and Junior Nationals, personal best times, team records, and more!
Our athletes combined to set five AGUA Swim Team records in the relay events:
11- to 12-year-old boys 200 medley relay (Xan Randolph, Sebastian Colvin, Atticus Fogarty, and Mason Kostov) — A Metropolitan Swimming record and the current #1 time in the country.
13- to 14-year-old boys 200 medley relay (Jonathan Packles, Spyros Argeros, Bruce Qian, and Tim Seliger) — A Metropolitan Swimming record and the current #1 time in the country.
13- to 14-year-old boys 400 medley relay (Jonathan Packles, Spyros Argeros, Bruce Qian, and Tim Seliger)
13- to 14-year-old boys 200 freestyle relay (Tim Seliger, Daniel Wojciechowski, Luca Fong and Bruce Qian)
13- to 14-year-old boys 400 freestyle relay (Tim Seliger, Bruce Qian, Daniel Wojciechowski and Luca Fong)
Congratulations to our athletes who posted individual National top-10 times:
Milly Birch and Mason Kostov earned high point honors in the 11- to 12-year-old category after they scored the most points throughout the competition. Additionally, Oliver Shao earned two Fran Crippen Memorial awards for his top-three finishes in the open-age category distance events.
Milly (11- to 12-year-old girls 50 backstroke) and Mason (11- to 12-year-old boys 50 and 100 freestyle; 50 breaststroke) also joined Spyros Argeros (13- to 14-year-old boys 100 and 200 breaststroke)in setting individual AGUA Swim Team records throughout the meet.
Lastly, we want to extend a big thank you to Alexander Argeros, Atticus Fogarty, Lizzie Gehrie, Veronica McCall, and Tim Seligerfor standing out as R.A.D. teammates over the weekend.
