Congratulations to Spyros Argeros and Jonathan Packles on competing at the 2026 Toyota U.S. National Championships in Irvine, CA!
Spyros raced to four lifetime best times in all three breaststroke events plus the 200 IM, and Jonathan set three new personal bests in the backstroke events.
Jonathan also qualified for the 18 & Under Finals in all three backstroke distances, placing 4th, 5th and 6th. His time in the 50 Backstroke (26.18) set a new 17-18 Metropolitan Swimming Record and his 100 (55.63) & 200 (2:00.12) were new AGUA Program Records!

400 Medley Relay - Veronica McCall, Alegra Teixidor-Salerno, Chloe Yang & Penny Wheaton (NEW AGUA TEAM RECORD)
An additional AGUA Team Record was set by our 200 Freestyle Relay Team (Veronica McCall, Lauren Fishbein, Ali Wright & Alegra Teixidor-Salerno), and the team comes home with two more medal performances by Alegra in the 200 Breast and the Men's 800 Free Relay (Yahro Pique, Bruce Qian, Will Rankin & Rohan Mehra).

As we navigate the remainder of the long course season, please look ahead to information regarding the 2026-2027 AGUA swim season:
Please be sure you are logged in to your Asphalt Green (not AGUA Team Unify) account before starting the application process.
SUMMER EQUIPMENT BAG PICKUP
Please plan ahead and bring home your gear bag at your final practice of the long course season. Any remaining gear or equipment bags may be thrown away or recycled during the Asphalt Green pool shutdown starting Saturday, August 15, 2026.
GET INVOLVED: BECOME AN OFFICIAL
AGUA is still looking for more Admin Officials and stroke-and-turn judges! Becoming an official is a great way to get involved in your swimmer's life and sport. You will learn the rules of competitive swimming and how meets work.

REMINDERS
LOCKER ROOM REMINDERS
As we continue the 2025-2026 AGUA season, we want to remind our athletes of locker room policies and best practices:
Locker rooms are shared spaces at both Asphalt Green's Battery Park City and Upper East Side campuses. All AGUA swimmers should speak and behave in alignment with our team values of respect, accountability, and discipline.
There are absolutely no photos or videos permitted inside locker rooms, both on campus and during travel meets.
Swimmers should lock their belongings in a locker during practice.
Only swimmers who are Asphalt Green members are permitted to use the member locker rooms at Asphalt Green. There are no exceptions.
REQUIRED ID CARDS
All swimmers must use their ID cards to access our facilities. Swimmers are not permitted to enter the facilities without their ID cards.
