TEAM UPDATES
GREAT WORK AT ISCA SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS!
Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed at the ISCA Senior Blast and ISCA Elite Showcase in St. Petersburg, FL!
At the Senior meet, the team was led by Serge Lyashchenko, who scored 41 points with top-ten finishes in all five of his events. He was victorious in the 16 & Under 200 Fly and 400 IM, and was joined atop the podium by Jaden Huang in the 16 & Under 200 and 400 Freestyles.
On the Women's Side, Lena Watts led the way with 26 points and two silver medals in the 16 & Under 200 and 400 Freestyles. She was joined as a medalist by Bridget Lockwood (16 & under 1500 Freestyle - Bronze).
The AGUA coaches would also like to shout out Lena, Lucien Chan, Leo De La Garza, Luca Fong, Lily Ramirez and Sophie Tu as R.A.D. teammates throughout the meet.
At the Elite Showcase 14 & Under Championships shortly after, AGUA dominated the competition, coming home with overall team wins for Girls, Boys and Combined.
We also saw five Team Records fall throughout the meet:
Everett Lan: 8 & Under Boys 50 Butterfly (37.44)
Everett Lan: 8 & Under Boys 100 Freestyle (1:12.88)
Everett Lan: 8 & Under Boys 200 Freestyle (2:38.08)
Jade Golnar: 9-10 Girls 50 Backstroke (35.34)
Nicholas Pichlmeier: 11-12 Boys 50 Breaststroke (34.59)
The team brought home over 200 medals for first, second, and third places, along with many new qualifying standards for Junior Mets through Futures!
Shoutout to the following swimmers for exemplifying our team values during the competition: Aitana Almandoz, Nicholas Ambar, Aurelio Cannaviello Persichetti, Jade Golnar, Sena Kanzaki, Kaila Katz, Olivia Kim, Cruz Malick, Mikaela Mars, Mikel Ruiz-Massieu and Teagan Sullivan.

As we navigate the remainder of the long course season, please look ahead to information regarding the 2026-2027 AGUA swim season:

SUMMER EQUIPMENT BAG PICKUP
Please plan ahead and bring home your gear bag at your final practice of the long course season. Any remaining gear or equipment bags may be thrown away or recycled during the Asphalt Green pool shutdown starting Saturday, August 15, 2026.
GET INVOLVED: BECOME AN OFFICIAL
AGUA is still looking for more Admin Officials and stroke-and-turn judges! Becoming an official is a great way to get involved in your swimmer's life and sport. You will learn the rules of competitive swimming and how meets work.

REMINDERS
LOCKER ROOM REMINDERS
As we continue the 2025-2026 AGUA season, we want to remind our athletes of locker room policies and best practices:
Locker rooms are shared spaces at both Asphalt Green's Battery Park City and Upper East Side campuses. All AGUA swimmers should speak and behave in alignment with our team values of respect, accountability, and discipline.
There are absolutely no photos or videos permitted inside locker rooms, both on campus and during travel meets.
Swimmers should lock their belongings in a locker during practice.
Only swimmers who are Asphalt Green members are permitted to use the member locker rooms at Asphalt Green. There are no exceptions.
REQUIRED ID CARDS
All swimmers must use their ID cards to access our facilities. Swimmers are not permitted to enter the facilities without their ID cards.
