UPDATES

NO MORNING PRACTICE ON SEPTEMBER 18

 

We will not have morning practice on Friday, September 18, 5:30-7am, at Asphalt Green on the Upper East Side while our engineering department updates the HVAC system.

  • Thursday, September 17: Asphalt Green will close at 8:30pm.

  • Friday, September 18: Asphalt Green will open at 9am. In the interim, we have secured access to the pool at Sacred Heart for member lap swim from 7am-8:30am, located at 406 E 91st St, New York, NY 10128. Please note that you must have your Asphalt Green ID card present to access the Sacred Heart pool.

UPPER EAST SIDE SCY CONFIGURATION ON OCTOBER 10-11

 

AGUA Swim Team is hosting its annual Season Opening meet on October 10-11. That will require an 8x25 yd. SCY configuration from 6am-8am for both Saturday and Sunday.

 

Battery Park City practice will not be affected.

STARTS AND TURNS CLINIC ON OCT. 11

 

We will also take that opportunity to run a free Starts and Turns clinic on Sunday, October 11. We'll take two lanes from 7am-8am in the shallow end.

Please note that these intervals are for short-course yards, but feel free to adjust as necessary. Refer to the following USMS Pace Chart for interval adjustments.

 

Warm Up (Set yards: 800)

  • 300 swim
  • 300 kick, no fins
  • 200 pull, no paddles

Set One: One round (Set yards: 1200)

  • 4x300 swim 5:30
    • 1-freestyle, breathing 3/5 by 100s
    • 2-25 free/50 IMO drill
    • 3-freestyle, breathing 3/5 by 50s
    • 4-25 free/50 IMO swim 

Main Set: One round (Set yards: 2000) 

  • 14x100 1:50
    • 2x freestyle swim
    • 1x kick, no fins
