MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND SCHEDULE

 

Please note that we will NOT have Masters practice on Memorial Day, tomorrow, May 26. We will resume regular practice on Tuesday, May 27.

 

SUMMER 2025 SCHEDULE REMINDER

 

To remind you — the Masters swimmers — in advance, we begin our summer pool schedule June 30.  The schedule will be shared in the next newsletter.

WAVE MAKERS SWIM-A-THON

 

SATURDAY MAY 31, 2025

 

Our very own AGUA swimmer, Ali Wright, is organizing a swim-a-thon in support of Asphalt Green’s community water safety initiatives as well as our skill development programs. Please see Ali’s email below for more information on how you can be a part of this exciting effort.

Hi everyone!
 
My name is Ali Wright and I am organizing a Swim-a-Thon fundraiser in support of Asphalt Green’s community water safety initiatives and skill development programs. These efforts will create pathways to swim instruction for individuals and families facing financial hardships. I am asking if you would join me as one of our swimmers! 
 
The event will occur on Saturday, May 31 – the last day of water safety month – from 2pm-5pm at Sacred Heart’s pool.
 
Participation is easy. Simply:

  1. Click on the registration button below to sign up.
  2. Ask friends and family to donate to your effort, either through a flat donation or by pledging a certain amount of money per lap you swim. (Donation links and promotional materials will be provided.)
  3. Swim on May 31!

Please note that these intervals are for short course yards, but feel free to adjust as necessary. Refer to the following USMS Pace Chart for interval adjustments.

 

Warm up: (Set yards: 800)

  • 300 swim
  • 300 IM kick/drill/swim by 25
  • 200 pull

    Set 2:  Four rounds IMO by round (Set yards: 2400)

    • 4x25 drill/drill/swim/drill 0:30
    • 4x75 50 swim/25 easy kick 1:20
    • 2x100 odd-free, even-IM swim 1:40

    Set 2:  Two rounds (Set yards:1500)

    • 400 - 50IM/50 free 6:00
    • 5x50 IMO+ free 0:50
