POOL CONFIGURATION- MLK WEEKEND

Due to the AGUA MLK weekend home meet, UES pool will run short course on both days of the weekend of January 18 and 19. Monday Jan 20 will have practices running as scheduled in the shallow end of the pool.

DRYLANDS

Thanks to your feedback, we're introducing some pre-practice activation drylands for the team. We're testing out times to begin, so please find our next dryland date at Battery Park City below. Please make sure to wear comfortable workout clothes and sneakers to dryland workouts. All are welcome to join!

Details:

• Dynamic stretching will constitute low-impact stretching and a few beginner strength exercises.
• Advanced dryland will constitute strength and plyometric exercises.

Battery Park City:

• Advanced dryland: Tuesday, January 14 from 11:15am-11:50am in Classroom B

2024 MEET RECAPS

DR. BILL ROSS MEMORIAL MASTERS SWIM MEET — NASSAU COUNTY AQUATIC CENTER

On Sunday, November 24 we had a smaller-than-planned group due to Thanksgiving travel. Mathias Altman-Kurosaki, Rich Bernstein, Brendan Carter, John Chambers, William Chan, Hayley Cort, and Roy O'Neill showed up to represent AGUA. Each of our swimmers could compete in a maximum number of 5 individual events. Our guys had some really solid swims across the board beating their seed times in multiple events. 

2024 COLONIES ZONES SCM CHAMPIONSHIPS — WORCESTER, MA

Over the weekend of December 13-15, a small crew traveled to Worcester, MA for the Colonies Zone SCM Championship meet. John Chambers, Eve Maidenberg, Chantal Naasana, David Oliver, Delaney Smith, and Krysten Sciacca made the trip to WPI. As always, this meet was exceptionally well run and a ton of fun, complete with rubber duckies for heat winners and tiny little glass ducks for age-group best times! 
 
This meet was David Oliver's first in many years! He crushed his 800 Free, setting a great tone for the meet for all of us and having some fun in the process. We were able to field two women's relays winning our age-group in both and overall coming in 8th out of the 29 Women's teams. 
 
Interestingly, there are some excellent restaurants in Worcester! We had team dinners on Friday at a family owned Lebanese restaurant and Saturday night at a local farm to table spot—there was much discussion of the day's swims and tons of laughs.
