HONORING BLACK LEADERS IN SPORTS, FITNESS, AND PLAY.
Like Asphalt Green, New York City's parks share our mission to build community and empower people of all backgrounds to live heather lives. In fact, many of our parks are named after community leaders who fought to bring sports, fitness, and play to all. During Black History Month and every month, we celebrate the legacies of heroes like Roberto Clemente, Fredrick Johnson, and Almira Kennedy, who continue to inspire our mission each and every day.
