ANNOUNCEMENTS, HIGHLIGHTS, & LOOKING AHEAD
The competitive program was thriving last year with a record 26 teams!
The program sent nine teams to nationals in Massachusetts this past June, another program record!
We'll be looking to build off of this momentum at tryouts next week, starting on September 8.
Our AAU program will be introducing a new model this year with National & Regional teams.
We're thrilled to announce that we will be back at St. Lukes this year, ensuring that our competitive athletes receive as much on-court development as possible!
Led by our great Community Programs Basketball Manager, David Rohn, Asphalt Green was able to serve 400 kids throughout NYC with free basketball programming last year. We will continue to make sure every young person in NYC has the opportunity to play this upcoming year with programming at The Post BK, Roberto Clemente State Park, and the Cooke School — all free of charge.
Our recreational program will also roll out a new and exciting model this year. All leagues will feature a skills segment, 3v3 games, and a 5v5 component.
Every Asphalt Green basketball coach across the program will be USA gold certified.
This fall, give your child a place to choose their activity, pursue their goals, and shine at their own pace. Inclusive Programs at Asphalt Green are back, and registration is now open for a full lineup of sensory-friendly classes with personalized support, including Everyone Plays: Basketball!
