When Asphalt Green is on the rise, AG Basketball is on the rise! Proceeds from the Gala support Asphalt Green’s not-for-profit mission to transform lives and build community through sports, fitness, and play opportunities for all. As we take the program to new heights, we thank you, our basketball families, for your generous support of Asphalt Green and AG Basketball. Your generosity helps Asphalt Green break down barriers to participation that help people lead healthier, more active lives.

Every day, Asphalt Green could fill Madison Square Garden or the Barclays Center with the number of New Yorkers who we serve through AG’s free sports leagues and swim lessons across the five boroughs, through subsidized recess programs in NYC public schools, and a robust scholarship program for young athletes of all backgrounds.

• The program has been blessed to learn from D1 coach Jim Engles! Jim has been an unbelievable resource for our young coaches, bringing expertise from 30+ years of experience. We're thrilled to see what the future holds, as Jim continues to lend his knowledge to our program. 
• EJ Bolta, member of our 8th-grade boys national team, was named to first-team all tournament during our latest session at NXT Gen in Maryland. Check it out. 
• We're thrilled to announce that starting this Spring, the Basketball Program will use BallerCam. This will allow us to live stream games, create personalized highlight reels, host film sessions with our athletes, score with advanced live stat tracking, and much more! 
• Did you know? Asphalt Green is currently providing free and/or reduced-fee basketball programming to 500+ youth athletes throughout NYC!

• Pathway opportunities:

  • Did you know that one in every three athletes in our AAU program started in one of our Foundations classes or Recreational leagues?

  • AG Basketball is excited to have added a sixth player to our AAU team, coming to us from our community basketball programs!

SPRING BASKETBALL CLASSES KICK OFF TOMORROW!

As a reminder, Asphalt Green's spring program season kicks off tomorrow, March 7. Secure your athlete's spot in one of our spring basketball offerings, and keep them progressing with the coaches and community they trust:

• Toddlers Basketball (Ages 3-4): Introduces little ones to basketball through fun games led by Asphalt Green's REP coaches, building confidence and developing early movement and social skills.

• Basketball Foundations (Ages 5-10): Perfect for kids who want to develop fundamental basketball skills and knowledge. 

• Youth Basketball League (Ages 7-13): Introduces kids and teens to a pre-competitive team environment through gameplay.

LOOKING AHEAD

• March 7 // Playoffs will begin for all our boys' regional teams in 55 Swish League
• March 7 // The start of Asphalt Green's spring program season.
